What we learned

  • Vendors welcomed the chance to accept card payments.
  • Cashless options reduced missed sales.
  • Short-term rental gave small businesses affordable access to card payments.

Flame & Flavour

One of Guyana’s premier outdoor culinary events, organised by the Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG). After We Lift Women 6, THAG engaged Flopay as its payment partner.

How Flopay helped. Terminals let THAG and vendors accept cards for entry, food, drinks and specialty offerings such as Gemini Cocktails, reducing cash handling and speeding up service.

What we learned

  • Attendees told us they appreciated being able to pay by card.
  • Offering more ways to pay made for a smoother customer experience.
  • Less cash handling improved efficiency and security.
Guyana Electronic Music Festival event banner

30 May 2026

Guyana Electronic Music Festival

Guyana’s first electronic dance music festival, with BPM Guyana, and the first time card payments were offered at the event (“Flopay Tap & Go!”).

What we learned

  • Card use rose when terminals were visible and easy to reach.
  • Organisers spent less effort counting, securing and transporting cash.
  • On-site support kept queues moving.
